Changes To The Theory Test In January 2012

From 23rd January 2012 the DSA is making changes to the UK driving theory test. From this date onwards, the DSA will add new multiple choice theory test questions to the test. The DSA will not allow anyone to publish these new theory test questions so they will not appear in any product or on any website. However, the DSA will continue to release official DSA theory test revision questions. (more…)

Pupil Referral Scheme

The majority of our pupils are the result of referrals from existing or past pupils.

Destiny Driving School operates a referral reward scheme whereby, if a pupil refers a relation, friend, colleague or acquaintance to the school, and that person then becomes a pupil, the referrer is rewarded with a free 1hr lesson by way of a ‘thank you’.

Nervous Drivers

nervous-driversMany pupils are very nervous of the whole driving experience. Although they like the idea of the freedom and independence that comes with driving, many actually find the thought of controlling the car very daunting and have serious doubts about their own ability. Nervous pupils and those lacking in confidence need real understanding, patience and considerably more encouragement than other pupils. Here at Destiny, we pride ourselves on offering that support and understanding, enabling the pupil to feel relaxed and overcome these inhibitions. (more…)

The Practical Test

This will last between 35 and 40 minutes and will test your ability to drive safely on different types of roads and in a variety of traffic conditions. At the beginning of the test you will be asked to read a number plate from the required distance of 20.5m or 20m (depending on whether it is an old-style or new-style number plate). (more…)

The Theory Test

Before you can take your practical test you will need to take and pass your theory test. This comprises two parts, the first consisting of 50 multiple choice questions and the second, referred to as the Hazard Perception Test, consisting of 14 video clips. You need to obtain a pass mark of 43 out of 50 on the first section AND a pass mark of 44 out of 75 on the hazard perception part to be awarded a ‘pass’ on the theory test. The cost for the Theory Test is currently £31.00 and can be booked online (see the link to the left).
